Stepps HC Kids
Mondays 6:30pm to 8:00pm
Learning to play hockey not only teaches sport specific skills, but is a great opportunity for boys and girls to get fit, develop team-working abilities, make friends and most importantly, have lots of fun!
Stepps Kids sessions run from ages 5-14 at Stepps Primary School astroturf pitch. We pride ourselves on being a friendly and inclusive club, and welcome all kids along to have a go, whether they have played hockey before or or are brand new to the sport. We have the same regular group of qualified, PVG scheme assessed coaches, working with small groups of kids, so that we can be sure that your kid gets the most out of sessions and the sport.

1. What kit does my child need for hockey?
We have plenty of sticks and shinguards that can be borrowed, all we ask for is advance notice so we can ensure to bring the right items, safely handled, for your child. We also recommend they wear a gumshield, suitable sportswear for the weather and a bottle of water.
2. Can I just arrive to try out a session?
Normally this would be the case. However, due to Covid-19 restrictions we require to know attendance in advance for every session, as well as a copy of our Track and Trace, and Safe in Care forms. These can be easily sent over by e-mail before the session.
3. What costs are involved with Stepps Kids Hockey?
We charge £25 a term (each term 8/9 weeks). Normally we have a rigid payment schedule but due to Covid-19 restrictions and potential training cancellation, the due date is determined on a term by term basis, but we will always plenty of notice.
Payment can be made by bank transfer:
or via the paypal link:
4. What Covid-19 safety measures is Stepps Kids Hockey taking?
We are providing alcohol hand gel which we advise every child to use when attending and leaving a session (we are aware of skin allergies etc., so if your child brings their own gel that is also acceptable) and wipes to disinfect their sticks on leaving the session. Also we provide each child with their own bib to borrow for the season, so there is no kit sharing. Physical distancing is performed as deemed necessary by the level of Tier system. Children are also advised on not handling balls, cones etc. Stepps Hockey Club is strictly following government and Scottish Hockey guidance regarding Covid-19, and are adapting and advising of any updates as required.
